Overview

Clopay Modern Steel™ Ultra-Grain® Plank is a flush-panel steel door with digitally printed horizontal planks — no repeating grain pattern. Three-layer construction: steel, 2" Intellicore®, steel. Official R-value is 18.4. Six finishes: Kona, Coastal Gray, Espresso, Barnwood, Natural, and Cedar. Sizes up to 20' wide and 16' tall. Windows can be plain short/long or contemporary slim in silver or black (slim on 2" models). Named a Top Product Pick of 2023 by The House Designers. This is the wood-plank look without Canyon Ridge composite cladding.

Quote Plank when the house wants horizontal wood texture and a steel price — mid-century, farmhouse, coastal cottage, or transitional. It is warmer than painted Modern Steel and simpler than Canyon Ridge Modern.

Questions we hear

Plank vs Canyon Ridge Modern?

Ultra-Grain Plank is printed wood grain on flush steel (R-18.4). Canyon Ridge Modern is molded composite planks, 3" or 6" boards, optional metal or glass inlays, R-18.4–20.4. Plank is the simpler steel door; Canyon Ridge Modern is the thicker wood-look cladding.

Can Overhead Door of America install a Modern Steel Ultra-Grain Plank on my home?
